JavaTM Fest '97

Hosted by JavaOneSM and Software Development '97
Co-Sponsored by Symantec, Silicon Graphics, and Starbucks

There was dancin' in the streets of San Francisco!!! We closed down Howard Street, between 3rd and 4th Street (in front of Moscone), to host JAVA FEST '97, a starry night event, complete with a beer, munchies, live music and Starbuck's Java Chip ice cream. It was an excellent time to sample the offerings of local microbreweries as they went head-to-head in an effort to win the "Developer's Choice" beer-tasting competition. We were lucky to have Microbreweries such as Beach Chalet, Black Diamond, Golden Pacific, Marin Brewing, Moylan's Brewing thirstyBear, Tied House Cafe and Brewery, Triple Rock and Twenty Tank generously donating kegs of beer for this special competition.

Event: JAVA FEST '97
Date: Wednesday, April 2, 1997
Time: 9pm-12midnight
Location: Outside of Moscone Convention Center on Howard Street

Wall to wall technology was available nearly all day for three whole days.
